PR AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Job Purpose

Our client is currently looking to hire a PR and Communications Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations and communication initiatives to enhance the company’s brand, build strong media relationships, and engage internal and external stakeholders. This role involves managing media outreach, crafting compelling narratives, and ensuring that the company’s messaging aligns with its business goals. 

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Communications:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive PR and communications strategy aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and business goals.
    • Ensure consistent messaging across all communications channels, both internal and external.
  • Media Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets.
    • Pitch stories and manage press outreach to secure media coverage, interviews, and features.
  • Content Creation:
    • Oversee the creation of press releases, speeches and other written materials for external and internal communications.
    • Develop thought leadership content, such as blogs, articles, and opinion pieces, to position the company as an industry leader.
  • Crisis Communication:
    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address and mitigate any potential risks to the company’s reputation.
    • Manage rapid responses to crises or sensitive issues, coordinating with legal and executive teams.
  • Internal Communications:
    • Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company objectives.
    • Create newsletters, announcements, and other internal communications materials.
  • Social Media & Digital PR:
    • Oversee social media strategy to enhance the company’s online presence and reputation.
    • Monitor online conversations and respond to media mentions.
    • Manage digital PR campaigns.
  • Event Management:
    • Plan and execute press events, media briefings, product launches, and public speaking engagements.
  • Measurement & Reporting:
    • Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of PR and communication efforts.
    • Adjust strategies based on data and feedback to optimize results.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience managing media relations, press outreach, and crisis communication.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms, with experience in digital PR.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a PR agency or corporate communications department.
  • Familiarity with PR tools and platforms for media monitoring and reporting (e.g., Meltwater, Cision).
