SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT- UAE NATIONAL

Job Purpose

A Government Entity based in Abu Dhabi is currently looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant who will be responsible to carry out all general accounting activities, in accordance with UAE & International Accounting standards/company policies & procedures, as well as ensure the availability of accurate financial records to facilitate statutory and organizational requirements.
Job Responsibilities
  • Expenditure Verification: Oversee and ensure the accurate verification of all expenditure documents in line with signed contracts and agreements before forwarding for approval.
  • Financial Transactions Maintenance: Monitor the recording and maintenance of all financial transactions and information as per UAE and International accounting policies.
  • Receivables and Accounts Management: Ensure effective maintenance of receivables, accounts payable, and general ledger to provide accurate financial information.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closing: Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, maintaining and reconciling General Ledger accounts according to UAE and International accounting standards.
  • Invoice and Expense Processing: Process transfer slips for invoice payments and expenses, and maintain receivables, such as interest receivable, sponsorship income, and staff advances.
  • Account Reconciliation: Initiate monthly account reconciliations, follow up on reconciliation statements, and address un-reconciled items and variances.
  • Fixed Asset Maintenance: Perform activities related to the maintenance of fixed asset accounts, including adding, disposing, or transferring assets.
  • Depreciation Management: Direct and confirm depreciation rates for capital assets monthly, and ensure accurate depreciation transfer to the General Ledger.
  • Capital Expenditure Management: Perform activities related to capital expenditure, ensuring it stays within the approved budget and is properly accounted for.
  • Audit Support: Assist in facilitating audit proceedings, ensuring adherence to statutory standards and the entity’s internal procedures.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • Relevant certifications such as CMA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CFA or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 years relevant experience.
